Giveaway time!!

This will be my first giveaway on my blog and I would like to try something different. I have absolutely nothing against traditional giveaways and LOVE winning them but for this one I would like to focus on those that have hit a real rough patch in life and need a little cheering up.

What I want you to do is think of a person that may be a friend of yours, someone in your community or even a family member. Just make sure you have their address as I will need this if the person is selected. Then without going into too much detail (unless the person approves of it) tell me why they should win. Please do not give out names as everyone will not appreciate this, but I would love to know how you know them. This giveaway is open until 10 PM EST Monday 11/23 so get your entries in and please spread the word through twitter, your blog and forums. If there are many entries this may become a reoccurring giveaway.

So what will the winner end up with?! Well these sterling silver wrapped Amethyst earrings and a matching necklace of course!

Now hurry up and nominate someone.
If you have a twitter or etsy account, please leave the user name. If not, you can write your e-mail. No spamming, I promise.

  1. I nominate my preachers wife. She goes and goes and goes, and gives of herself all the time. She even finds time to ask me if I need help with my kids! She deserves millions of dollars for her work, but since no one is asking for nominations for that - I nominate her for this.

I'm atrane on twitter or amyleann at gmail dot com

  2. yay, what a great twist on giveaways. I love this idea and have the perfect nominee. A friend, whom I met through Etsy, lost her husband a couple of weeks ago. He was in a car accident. I've never met her in person, and she lives to far away for me to give her a hug. She's a mom of 3 young girls (all under 5 yo.) and an art teacher. Her life was already tough before this happened, and I know she could use a little cheer.

  3. This is fabulous, Anna!

I would like to nominate a lovely lady that lives not too far from me. Last year at this time she was right around full term in her first pregnancy.

Her baby boy was born via emergency c-section and only lived for 1 hour after he was born. It was obviously heart wrenching for her and I can only imagine how difficult the one year anniversary will be.

  4. hey anna, what a great concept - and beautiful earrings. Id like to nominate my friend, emmah. She works incredibly hard (for very little pay) running a dance studio (where I also teach), she never does anything for herself or spends any money on herself but is always helping others. Her father died completely unexpectedly two days ago and the funeral is tomorrow. She'll be needing all the cheer we all can bring her in the future. thanks so much, anna!

  5. Hello Anna,
It is a great idea for a giveaway! I would nominated a good friend of mine whose mother had a stroke and now requires special attention in a constant basis. She's a positive person but I know these earrings would cheer her up and she would love them because they are really her style.
    Thank you!

I was going to nominate Laura, since she has been in the hospital for a few days now. But it sounds like many people are deserving of this wonderful "pick-me-up" ...so I hope whomever wins will get some much deserved cheer from it. thanks!

  7. i would like to nominate my friend who is just starting the divorce process. she found out her husband was having an affair and forgave him and got them into counseling. well, 3 years later and he is still lying and cheating. and come to find out he has been since before they got married. they have 3 kids and she is an at home mom and terrified to go it alone. but i am very proud of her, because she is finally doing it. she's got a tough road ahead of her. plus she would look adorable in these earrings! kelderkin@hotmail.com

  8. Such a sweet and generous offer, Anna! I am nominating a woman, Ann, who recently moved into our area, escaping a bad marriage, and began attending our little community church. Shortly after she moved here, she was the victim of a hit and run accident, so she is without a car (this is how she learned of our church since one of our members found her after the accident and brought her home and comforted her). She is also without a job and is living in a rental trailer with her two teenage sons. With all of this, she remains so positive and loving, and she is so precious! I know that her Christmas will not be filled with gifts, so this giveaway would be a wonderful treat for her.

I would like to nominate my twin sister Joy. Her favorite color is purple + I know she'd love these! She is a tireless, single mom of two (one being 2, one entering his teen angst years), and she's constantly working. They would be a great treat for her!

Thank you for doing this! I've really enjoyed reading everyone's posts. What a unique idea- really soulful!
